What is Safe Harbor? Safe Harbor is a safe and secure family shelter for Emergency Assistance for eligible women and their children who are homeless due to domestic violence. Safe Harbor, which is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development and private contributions, can accommodate up to 20 families.

Safe Harbor Adopt-A-Unit Crew from our Osterville Rotary Club did an amazing job fixing up a unit for one of the Safe Harbor clients in time for the Holidays as we took on a unit -  specifically unit R -  and we painted the entire unit, walls, trim, ceiling, added some blinds and shelving were the family asked for it to be placed.  Many of our members donated area rugs, towels, bedding, pillows, blankets, books, a chair and some really nice coat racks and shelves. A good deal of our members also contributed money to the cause.  It has been  rewarding to take on a "hands on project" and we will continue to monitor how we can improve our unit in the future. You learn a lot about each other when you work side by side on a project often out of your comfort area with fellow Rotarians.
